Is FlickPicker free?
Yes. Downloading and using FlickPicker for tracking, importing your history, discovery and Pick Together is free. Premium, at $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, unlocks the heavier AI features and conveniences such as hiding watched titles across Home and Discover.
Is there a FlickPicker Android app?
Not currently. FlickPicker is iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Mac only, and we will not put a date on Android. If you need Android today, Trakt, Simkl, Serializd, Showly and Sofa Time all have Android apps.
Is there a FlickPicker web app I can track from?
theflickpicker.com lets you browse films, shows, trailers and collections, but tracking, imports and Pick Together live in the iOS app. There is no full web tracker.
Can I import my TV Time data into FlickPicker?
Yes, if you still have the export file. FlickPicker reads the official TV Time GDPR export including watched episodes with per-episode progress, watched films, followed shows, watchlist items and ratings, and shows you matched titles first so you can exclude wrong matches. The catch is that TV Time shut down on 15 July 2026 — see our TV Time alternatives page for whether your data is still recoverable at all.
What else can FlickPicker import from?
Letterboxd, IMDb, Trakt, generic CSV exports and pasted watchlists, in addition to TV Time.
Do I need a Trakt account to use FlickPicker?
No. FlickPicker keeps its own account and library and works completely standalone. Trakt is simply one of the places you can import from.
Does FlickPicker track movies as well as TV shows?
Yes, both in one library, with per-episode progress for shows. This distinguishes it from Serializd, which tracks TV only, and Letterboxd, which tracks films only.
How does FlickPicker's AI differ from asking ChatGPT for recommendations?
A general chatbot does not know what you have watched, how you rate things, which streaming services you pay for or what is available in your country. FlickPicker's AI is grounded in all three — the catalogue, live regional availability, and your own taste data — so it can say whether a specific title suits you and explain why by referencing films you personally rated highly or badly.
Can FlickPicker help a group decide what to watch?
Yes, that is what Pick Together does. One person creates a room, others join with a code or QR code, everyone votes on a shortlist tailored to the group, and the room reveals the match. Rooms keep a history of what the group chose before.
Does FlickPicker show where something is streaming?
Yes, based on your region and the services you tell it you subscribe to. It also alerts you before a title on your watchlist leaves one of those services.
Does FlickPicker work offline?
Core library browsing works, but recommendations, streaming availability and search need a connection. If you specifically want a fully local, no-account tracker, OpenTV is built that way — though it is a very new app with no cross-device sync.
What happens to my data if I stop paying for Premium?
Your library, history, ratings and lists stay intact. You lose access to Premium-only features, not your data. If you want a copy of your data, contact hello@theflickpicker.com — we do not yet have a one-tap self-service export, which we consider a genuine gap.
Which app should I use if FlickPicker is not right for me?
We would rather tell you than waste your time. On Android or the web, use Trakt. For writing episode reviews with a community, Serializd. To pay once instead of subscribing, Sofa Time at $7.99–$9.99.
