What FlickPicker Actually Does
FlickPicker is a movie and TV tracker for iPhone and iPad that is built around one question: what should I watch next. It keeps the library and the episode progress you expect from a tracker, then uses that history — plus the streaming services you actually pay for — to answer that question, alone or with other people. Getting your data in
Switching trackers usually fails at the import step, so this gets real attention:
- TV Time GDPR exports — watched episodes with per-episode progress, watched films, followed shows and watchlist items, and ratings.
- Letterboxd, IMDb, Trakt, generic CSV exports, and pasted watchlists.
- A preview step before anything commits. You see the matched titles and can exclude incorrect matches first — which matters for older films and shows with ambiguous names.

- AI Taste Match gives a verdict on a specific film or show using your ratings, favourite genres and actors, runtime preferences and concrete titles you liked or disliked — and explains its reasoning.
- Taste Profile turns your history into readable signals: favourite genres, recurring actors, preferred pacing and tone, and how you rate.
- Taste Compare privately compares your taste with a friend by code, link or QR, producing a match score, shared favourites, agreements and clashes, and recommendations for each other. Both people approve exactly what is shared before anything is compared.

Pick Together: deciding with other people
Choosing alone and choosing as a group are different problems. Pick Together handles the second one: create a room, invite people with a code or QR code, everyone votes on a shortlist tailored to the group, and the room reveals the match. Rooms keep a history so you can see what the group settled on before. No other tracker in this category does this.

What FlickPicker does not do
Stated plainly, because finding out after you have imported a decade of history is worse:
- No Android app. iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Mac only.
- No web tracking app. You cannot log what you watched from a laptop browser.
- No self-service data export yet. You can ask support for your data; there is no one-tap CSV. If never being locked in is your top priority, Trakt exports CSV, iCal and RSS on its paid tier.
- No large public review community. If you want to read and write episode reviews with a big audience, Serializd is built for that and FlickPicker is not.
- Not enough App Store ratings yet for Apple to display an average. We are a newer app and cannot point at a decade of reviews.

Yes — from TV Time GDPR exports (including per-episode progress, watched films, follows and ratings), Letterboxd, IMDb, Trakt, generic CSV files and pasted watchlists. The importer shows you matched titles first so you can exclude wrong matches before anything enters your library.
Is FlickPicker's AI just ChatGPT bolted onto a movie app?
No. It is grounded in three things a general chatbot does not have: the film and TV catalogue, live streaming availability for your region and services, and your own taste data — ratings, watch history, genres, actors, runtime and pacing preferences. That means it can tell you whether a specific title suits you and explain why, referencing titles you personally liked or disliked, rather than describing films in general.
Does FlickPicker track individual episodes?
